James Wolfli was born and raised in Alberta. He completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Calgary. Post-graduate training in plastic and reconstructive surgery then took him to Edmonton, and the University of Alberta. He successfully completed his training in 2005, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). The pursuit of further training then took him to Atlanta, Georgia. He completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery at Paces Plastic Surgery Center under the tutelage of Drs. Mark Codner, Clinton D McCord, Foad Nahai and T Roderick Hester. Following this, he trained at Atlanta Plastic Surgery with Drs. L. Frank Elliott and James Namnoum performing esthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. Finally, he traveled to the University of Gent, in Belgium, for further breast reconstruction training with the pioneers of the perforator (DIEP) flap; Drs. Phillip Blondeel, Moustapha Hamdi, and Koenraad Van Landuyt.

Upon returning to Alberta, Dr. Wolfli began his practice in Edmonton. Areas of interest continue to be reconstructive and esthetic breast and eyelid surgery.
