James Wolfli was born and raised in Alberta. He completed his undergraduate
and medical degrees at the University of Calgary. Post-graduate training
in plastic and reconstructive surgery then took him to Edmonton, and
the University of Alberta. He successfully completed his training in
2005, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons
of Canada (FRCSC). The pursuit of further training then took him to
Atlanta, Georgia. He completed a fellowship in Oculoplastic Surgery
at Paces Plastic Surgery Center under the tutelage of Drs. Mark Codner,
Clinton D McCord, Foad Nahai and T Roderick Hester. Following this,
he trained at Atlanta Plastic Surgery with Drs. L. Frank Elliott and
James Namnoum performing esthetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
Finally, he traveled to the University of Gent, in Belgium, for further
breast reconstruction training with the pioneers of the perforator
(DIEP) flap; Drs. Phillip Blondeel, Moustapha Hamdi, and Koenraad Van
Landuyt.
Upon returning to Alberta, Dr. Wolfli began his practice in Edmonton.
Areas of interest continue to be reconstructive
and esthetic breast and eyelid surgery. He performs operations at
the Grey Nuns,
Misericordia,
and University of Alberta Hospitals, as well
as the Alberta Surgical Centre and Meadowlark’s Plastic and
Cosmetic Laser Surgical Centre.
